Staying Committed To A Goal

When looking towards future goals (goals are often a side effect of discovering a passion), staying committed to them takes a bit of work.

It will mean that you will have to work hard for quite some time, all the while, you'll have little to show for it but missed sleep, big dreams, and an unfinished project.

But that's the nature of hard work and dedication.

"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."

 - Earl Nightingale

So when you're thinking of what it could mean to work as hard and as long as you may need to do in order to achieve your goals, to follow your passion, thinking about this fact may help. That time spent on your goal is going to pass whether you like it or not. And regardless of what you do, in a few years...it will be a few years.

So why not reach the end of that time with something to show for it?

Always remember why you made the promise to yourself in the first place. Maybe it was to make a better life for yourself and those around you. Maybe it was to try accomplishing something you've never done before. Or maybe it was just to say that you could do it.

Whatever the reason, make sure that you have a reminder to keep you committed.

How do you stay committed to a goal?
